Yes and no. While we don’t have a specific minimum period, we do specialise in medium and long-term rentals. Our clients typically hire our vehicles for three months or more. Subject to availability, vehicles may be hired from as short as seven days. Talk to us, and we’ll see if we can meet your needs.

The person whose driver's licence details we hold on file should be the main driver of the vehicle. However, anyone who holds a valid licence and is a fellow employee of the hirer is also permitted to drive the vehicle while on company business. We offer full, comprehensive, vehicle rental insurance with all 4WD vehicle hires with an excess of $3,000. You can choose to reduce this excess by paying an Insurance Excess Reduction (IER) charge when hiring the vehicle. Tyre punctures and blowouts are not covered by this policy. Our 4WD vehicles are perfect for use on sealed and unsealed roads. They are not permitted for use on ferries, water crossings, beaches or near salt waterways. See our terms and conditions for further information.

Vista Hire is based in Brisbane in South-East Queensland. We can arrange a set time to meet you at our depot to collect the vehicle, or we can deliver the vehicle to any location within a 25km radius of Brisbane (charges may apply).

If you need a vehicle outside of these locations though, talk to us and we can discuss delivery options with you.

We offer different daily 4x4 hire rates for different lengths of time. So, if you need a vehicle for twelve months, you'll get a better rate than if you need a vehicle for one month. So if you're not sure if you need a vehicle for six or eight months, that's fine; just talk to us about a competitive price. All of our agreements have a two-week notice period prior to the return of vehicles.

Each mine specification component carries a cost, so it depends on what mine specification options you require. For example, if you need reversing beepers and flashing lights only, that is a cheaper rate than a vehicle that is equipped with roll over protection structures (ROPS), LED highlights, and a site specific 2-way radio.

Yes we do. Vista Hire rents 4WDs fully equipped with mine specification accessories to meet the safety standards required by Queensland and New South Wales open cut mine sites, including BMA mine sites and Santos controlled sites. This can include roll over protection structures (ROPS), reversing beepers, orange rotating lights, in-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS), collision avoidance systems (CAS) and more. It depends what you call a truck. Our turbo diesel Hilux's are either single cab or dual cab utility vehicles with either a soft tonneau cover, trayback, or a lockable canopy. We also rent Toyota Landcruiser Wagons.

All our vehicles are fitted with tow bars. The Toyota Hilux has a braked towing capacity of 2,250 kilograms. The Toyota Landcruiser has a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kilograms.

High visibility flags are used on mine sites and we can supply them mounted to the bull bars of our vehicles.

We ask that you provide your odometer readings at least once per month. This helps us schedule maintenance. We will generally call or message you to arrange these.

You should contact us. Our vehicles are covered by 24 hour roadside assistance. If your vehicle is not able to be mobilised, we will arrange a replacement (subject to availability).

All accidents should be immediately reported to the police and reported to Vista Hire within 24 hours. Please read our accidents policy and procedure.

Traffic infringements will be forwarded to the nominated driver whose details we hold on file, unless you notify us that someone else was driving. An administration charge will be debited to your account to cover our legal expenses. If you think your rental vehicle has been involved in a traffic offence, please contact Vista Hire before the notice is issued.

No. You need to organise to pay for any tolls. If the toll is unpaid, we will pass on the toll fine, plus an adminisration fee.

We are committed to providing you safe and reliable 4WD vehicles and have taken out warranties and roadside assistance policies for our entire fleet.

We service our vehicles at the required intervals and the sticker on your windscreen will tell you when it’s next due.

To minimise disruption to your business, we can pickup and drop off your rental vehicles, arrange loan cars, or exchange your vehicles with freshly serviced ones depending on availability, but we do require that vehicles are serviced at, or before, they are due.

Yes, we can usually provide a loan car while your vehicle is being serviced. The specification of the loan vehicle may vary from the specification of your hire vehicle depending on availability.
