The BMA mine vehicle compliance standard has been updated to include Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS). Vista Hire can equip your 4WD hire vehicle with CAS. Contact us to discuss your requirement for a 4WD hire vehicle equipped with CAS.
The CAS equipment is designed to reduce the likelihood of collisions through the following benefits:
- Real time vehicle location tracking
- Audible and visual warning of potential danger
- Alerting of both parties if other party is fitted with CAS
- Alerting of proximity of stationary objects if object is fitted with CAS
- Data logging
The CAS equipment comprises of a radio frequency (RF) sensor and an in-cabin alarm unit. After CAS has been commissioned on a mine site, the requirement to have CAS fitted to vehicles entering that site will be mandatory. The first BMA sites to require CAS are Gregory Crinum Mine and Peak Downs Mine.

The Dash Mounted Alarm Unit is situated inside the vehicle cabin and provides an audible and visual warning to the driver when a heavy vehicle is detected within the programmed detection range. Data is also logged by this unit.
