The Yarrabee open-cut mine is located 40km northeast of Blackwater in the Bowen Basin. It is owned by Yarrabee Coal Company Pty Ltd.
Vista Hire has supplied vehicles to contractors working at this site and can prepare vehicles to comply with the requirements at Yarrabee Coal.
All our 4WD hire vehicles are white in colour for increased visibility and options can be built up or down for change of purpose to meet your exact specification including that required for Yarrabee Coal.
Mine Spec options required at Yarrabee Coal are:
Visibility standards
- Flashing amber hazard light
- Rear high lights (tail lights, reversing light, turning lights)
- Reflective tape stripes on sides of vehicle
- Mine flag
- Light coloured vehicle.

- ROPS - Roll over protection structure
- Site specific digital 2-way radio (Tait TM8250-A4A00). Not supplied by Vista Hire. Contact us for more information.
- 40CH or 80CH UHF CB radio. We can supply ICOM radios capable of being programmed between 450-500 MHz.
Reversing alarms
- Reversing alarms are distinct and clearly audible above background noise
- Our reversing alarms can be switched to operate with the revolving flashing light.
