The Ensham Resources coal mine is located approximately 40km north-east of Emerald in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland.
Vista Hire has supplied vehicles to contractors working at this site and can prepare vehicles to comply with the requirements at Ensham coal mine.
All our 4WD hire vehicles are white in colour for increased visibility and options can be built up or down for change of purpose to meet your exact specification including that required for Ensham Resources coal mine.
Mine Spec options required at Ensham coal mine are:
Visibility standards
- Flashing amber hazard light (strobe)
- Head and tail lights
- Turn indicators and brake lights
- High visibility flag between 1.5 metres above cabin height
- Positive ID signage for company.
Other safety equipment
- Fire extinguisher
- First aid kit
- ROPS - roll-over protection structure
- Mine specific VHF radio
- 40CH or 80CH UHF CB radio. Ensham Resources is using UHF Channel 15.
Reversing alarms
- Reversing alarms are distinct and clearly audible above background noise
- Reversing alarms can be switched to operate with the revolving flashing light.
Mechanical requirements
- Brake test - vehicles to have a dynamic brake test in accordance with Ensham specification
- RIMS checked, marked and recorded fit for purpose
- Last service date should be clearly indicated on the vehicle and within manufacturer's specification.
