High-level Mine Spec Requirement Comparison

We hire mine spec vehicles across three main groupings:

-          BMA Mine Spec (for work at BHP Mitsubishi Alliance sites)

-          Gas Spec (for work at LNG / CSG sites)

-          Semi Mine Spec (for work on civil construction or other infrastructure projects).

 BMA Mine Spec Requirements 

The BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) standard for vehicles is comprehensive and varies depending on the vehicle type. At Vista Hire, we only hire light vehicles, so the specification listed only pertains to light vehicles. 

(According to BMA, light vehicles are vehicles up to a gross vehicle mass of 4500 kg, and includes passenger vehicles with provision to carry up to 12 passengers such a minibuses, etc).

 Gas Mine Spec Requirements

Gas Spec vehicles are used at LNG/CSG mine sites. The standard for light vehicles at LNG /CSG sites throughout Queensland varies slightly, so the Vista Hire gas spec cars are equipped with items that may not be required at the site you are attending, but are required at other gas sites. Some items, e.g. fire extinguisher, may not be required if the vehicle is only travelling to an urban site, not a rural or remote site.

  • Commercial band UHF radios on request – programmed for use on the Santos or Origin digital UHF radio networks.

  • High visibility flag (dune pole) mounted on the left side of the bull bar and sized between 3.0m and 3.5m high.
